Family-Owned with 41 Years of Experience Serving Local Customers!
Following a yearning to bring traditional and contemporary Chinese food to Memphis, brother and sister, David Wang and Shelly Ansley, opened the doors of Wang’s Mandarin House in 1983. Using her experience in the food distributing industry and his experience in New York’s restaurant industry, Shelly and David began Wang’s Mandarin House with a rental truck full of restaurant supplies and chefs from New York’s bustling Chinatown. The influence from their mother’s home cooking that originated in her hometown in China guided David and Shelly in those first few months and Memphis quickly caught on.
Nearly three decades later, David and Shelly continue with the same mission and are grateful for Memphians’ support. The countless “best of awards” that have been received over the years are a testament to David and Shelly’s dedication to consistently serve outstanding Chinese food.
The menu at Wang’s Mandarin House has been crafted to reflect both contemporary and traditional Chinese food. Familiar and contemporary dishes such as Hunan Beef and General Tso’s Chicken are prepared with the best ingredients and never fail to satisfy that craving. Wang’s also offers dishes that are closer to those you would find in homes and restaurants in China and Taiwan today such as Scallion Pancake, Zha Jiang Mien, and Cold Spicy Cucumbers.
